Zimbabwe Simudzirai Welfare Organisation is a registered Social Welfare Organization that is mandated to cater for and support vulnerable children. The categories which are;
-Physically handicapped
-Mentally Challenged
-HIV positively living
-Very Poor
-Unregistered(no birth certificates)
The school objective is to construct a learning center that best suits their learning ability. Currently we are occupying land leased to us by City Council. The details shown on below document.
In this project conducted in September /October 2018, we initially got a 5000 litre container of water then learned it only lasts one week,. We then decided to buy the water container and repair the borehole. This will have a more lasting impact and a great momento of the donation from ZimHoustonians.
I talked to folks in Zimbabwe and I found out a cheaper way for us to supply water to the school for a month with the same amount of money we were going to spend, if not less.
1. We buy a 5000liter Watertank for $650 to be installed at the school. This becomes permanent donation to the school
2. A certified water company fills the 5000liters water tank for $70, which last a weeks. So for $280 we get water for a month.
3. The total cost would be $650+$280=$930. And the school will continue to use the water tank into the future.
After looking at this information the best option was to get the water tank for the school and water supply for a month.
