NO ZIMBABWEAN IN HOUSTON LEFT BEHIND

The ZimHoustonians Association (ZimHA), is an official 501 c(3) registered nonprofit organization consisting of Zimbabweans based in the Houston area in Texas, USA. The Association became a registered entity in 2018.

ZimHA operates on the premise of No Zimbabwean in Houston Left behind. It exists not only to support locally based Zimbabweans in times of life events such as weddings and bereavement, but also to help underprivileged groups or areas locally within the Houston areas as well as in Zimbabwe.

ZimHA has embarked on projects that include, participating in the Packathon to pack food destined for worldwide feed the hunger, assist in crisis situations, such as the cholera outbreak, and more recently, the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization has so far been funded by contributions from the community on a project by project basis.

ZimHA is led by a voluntary board of directors. Therefore, all money collected goes to fund the organization’s projects.

Dr. Grace Gwitira
Chairperspon

Dr. Grace Gwitira is one of the founder members of ZimHA. She served as the secretary and public relations officer and was elected to the chair position in January, 2022. Outside of ZimHA, she provides training and coaching in areas of leadership, emotional intelligence, and book writing.

Mrs. Nelia Manhema-Cruickshank
Advisor

Drawing upon her background of over 20 years experience in various leadership positions, entrepreneurship and lifetime encounters, Nelia embodies her role as an Advisor for the ZimHoustonian community.

Simba Tirimboyi
Advisor

Simbarashe Tirimboyi is a Registered Nurse and has been a resident of the greater Houston area since 2006. Married to Portia, with three children. Proud to be a part of this community and happy to serve.

Pastor Promise Tshuma
Advisor

Pastor Promise is the senior Pastor at the Overcomers International Church, Pastor Promise Tshuma is dedicated to encouraging Men and Women to live lives that please God. Called to Ministry at 18 years old when he and Bishop S Nkomo opened a branch of Christ the Word of God. He then founded the Overcomers International church in Concord NH in 2010 and started the present one in Houston, Texas in 2016.

Pastor Kudzi Villika & Pastor Masimba Vilika: Advisors

Pastors Masimba and Kudzai Vilika are blessed to be part of the Zim-Houstonian community since it’s inception. They serve as spiritual advisors to the ZIMHA leadership committee, and also serve the community at large. They are the pastors of Forward in Faith Houston which is the Houston Branch of FIFMI, a global ministry that originated in Zimbabwe under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Ezekiel Guti.

Mr. Martin & Mrs Mercy Nyamapfumba: Advisors

My name is Martin Nyamapfumba and I was born in Rusape. I came to the United States in 1997. I graduated from University of Texas at Dallas with a Master’s Degree in Geophysics. I moved to Katy in 2007 and work for IHS Markit as a software development manager. I’m married to my beautiful wife Mercy and we have two children Kudzai Charles and Kumbirai Grace.

Mr. Dan has faithfully served ZimHA as the treasurer since the inception of the organization. With a background in accounting and governed by the principle of truth, transparency and teamwork, he makes sure that all funds are properly accounted for and disbursed based on the decisions made and authorized by the board.
